Document A Deconstruction by Salty Pete

INSTRUCTIONS: Document A Deconstruction

When I sat down at the table this evening, I thought I was going to do to
Camera Make/Mod but well... Things got a little out of control and I ended up doing this task instead.

I have had this camera for a while but after dropping it one too many times, the screen started crapping out. Sooo I thought maybe I could be able to either fix it or improve it.... After touching the leads of that damn flash capacitor another time, I had to cover it up with a paper towel. Just for reference, please be careful if you open up a camera... The capacitors (little things that look like a battery but have wires built in) can store up a big charge.

At any rate, the screen stopped working all together and I figured there was no way I could figure out how to get all those damn screws went... Oh well. Not every task goes the way you plan.

The flash unit... I covered the capacitor with a paper towel.

The motor used to drive the zoom... the littlest motor Ive ever seen! (Technically this last part is untrue, there was a smaller motor inside the lens to open and close the lens cover.)

I was thinking about selling the parts on ebay as a "Build Your On Digital Camera Kit" ;)
