Sombrero Guy, after an astronomical train journey, ventured forth into the land of the farms, home of the chavs: GREAT YARMOUTH.

The following is by ROB, who at the moment, has NEVER made a textual appearance in a task!

Swiftshock: the -actual- Welcome Wagon!


After leaving my abode with my camping gear in, I drove (Peugeot 106, 1 litre petrol, 2 doors... small, basically) round to Tom's to pick up his self and his belongings (virtually filling my car boot). On the way, I had to go to my workplace and fix up my new watch, AND make a few phonecalls. We then headed off to pick up Sombrero Guy/the Newcomer/Jowan. Who also had himself and belongings. THEN we went and collected Adam. Who also had himself and belongings.


My car was pretty full.

So, after that we finally ended up at the camping spot. Nice little place with chickens and cider and tents and cider and a camp fire and cider and *drunk*


Anyhoo. I'll let these guys, and these videos, tell what happened:









Notes from the newcomer:
As I seem to have avoided being filmed much, I shall put a little bit in here. Kieran states that I don't talk much, which is probably true, comparitively, but I have my excuses. Meeting a large group of amazing and crazy people, most of whom you have never even spoken to before, straight after a 6 hour train journey, is a slightly bemusing experience. At first I probably didn't say much, but after a while I felt that I fitted in well. Next time, at least, I'll know what to expect.
I've also found my favourite place in East Anglia, to my knowledge: the ruined Roman fort of Gariannonum, or Burgh Castle.

Through conversations in the campsite, and on various walks to the shop and the ruins, I got to know GY0 better. Staying up all night listening to Tom and Adam talking was particularly interesting...
I thought that my visit was a true introduction to GY0 culture, and a proper welcome.
And then on the last day they decided to abandon me in the town centre a couple of hours before my train left:

Thankfully, I managed to go on a sort of mini-dérive around Great Yarmouth and pick up a few souvenirs without getting lost or being attacked by the infamous Great Yarmouth chavs, before I left.
