Trespassing by Augustus deCorbeau
July 12th, 2008 10:27 PMMima mounds (pronounced /ˈmaɪmə/ "my-muh"), also known as Hogwallows, are mounds of soil some meters tall that occur in various places in the world. Their origin is still unknown. Various theories have been proposed: that they are Indian burial mounds, remnants of glacial activity, interactions of the soil with earthquake vibrations, even the actions of giant gophers.A small gravel path winding through Mima mounds in Washington State:

Prairie Wildflowers. Pretty.

What ho? No trespassing?

Well, let's not let that stop us...

A fence. Interesting.

And then, the wind shifts.

Why, hello there.

My, what big teeth you have.

Quick! Run for the trees!

Climb!

...

Om nom nom.

Ooo, trespassing for wolf sighting! That rocks.
These wolves do not eat players (or even NPCs)! They have been rescued by Wolf Haven and given a comfortable place to live -- hopefully just long enough until they can be re-released into the wild. Of course, I wasn't supposed to be poking around back near the wolf enclosures -- I was supposed to be out in the parking lot selling fry bread for the anthropology club... but... it was my lunch break. And the Wolf Haven staff weren't watching...
