Yeah -- admittedly, there wasn't a whole lot of forethought behind this, but I figured it would be a good way to get started.

Dashing, my good chap!

Thanks for the great comments, folks!

@ Frostbeard -- Yeah, I thought about that, but I wasn't sure how long the eggs had alreay been unrefrigerated before they came into my possession (since I had obtained them third-hand...). I also wanted to follow the "official instructions" from the Exploratorium, at least for this first attempt.

@ Burn Unit -- I think you may be right. The middle parts of the egg didn't taste as bitter as the edges. I'm wondering if the membrane normally sticks to the inside of the shell, so you wouldn't eat it when you cook an non-dissolved egg.

@ Levitating Potato -- That's a great idea! I think I know how to go about doing it, too...

I love the picture of the shadow monster -- it has a very Lovecraftian feel to it. Especially since it's followed by the picture where everyone is vanishing into thin air. (Did you use the a slow sync flash for those shots? I like the effect.)

Hahahaha! That's great!

Decoy linen!

Very slick. I'm printing this out if I ever go to London!

The last picture's kind of hard to see in the preview, but at full resolution it seemed pretty clear to me.

Snaps to being a total nut (in a quiet non-disruptive sort of way) a public library.

There was actually a whole complex of these old brownstone houses in various states of ruination.

As far as I can figure, this must have been some sort of small town, or very large family farm up until maybe a hundred years ago or so.
Most of the roofbeams have since rotted away, sending the metal roofs crashing down onto the foundations, leaving a treacherous rusty, brambly mess.

As for The House -- it looked like up until a few years ago, kids had been maintaining the best preserved of the ruins as a hideout.

Regarding coordinates -- I took a closer look at the map, and wherever it was I wound up, that's *totally* NOT where I was supposed to be, so I'm afraid they wouldn't be much help.

Haha! Great picture!
I was all "Ooh! What do those icons mean? Why is there no ALT text for the images? Maybe he just..."

Gave me a good chuckle.
