Art Burglar by heather galaxy

INSTRUCTIONS: Steal something physical from another player. Create a piece of art using this object. Be very careful when choosing said object. Something as mundane a newspaper or an old box may have personal value to its owner.

So for some reason "The" Lovesmasher, MsGoblinPants Extraordinare, and j. m. bot always allow me to stay in their place when I come visit Chicago. I don't know how wise this is considering how devious I am! Mwah hah hah!

The other day they were asking me when I would make another painting from them. When they first moved back here they had a housewarming where the guests were asked to provide art. I gave them a painting I did when I was an art student in college about 10 years ago now. It's one of the few pieces I did that I really liked.

see:

I always liked layering and playing with textures and stuff. And, y'know, they did ask for another painting... they just didn't know it'd be using all their stuff!

So I looked around their house for a while before I realized I needed some sustenance to help my brain come up with some scheme and use stuff from all 3 players! Mwah hah hah!

So I made a sandwich.

I took these items and started chopping and such before I started roasting the eggplant:

mmmm roasted eggplant. The time this took allowed me to wander a little more and see if I would be inspired. And then it hit me:

Dryer sheets! At this point I had no idea what I thought I'd do... maybe a triptych? But clearly it was possible that all three players used these dryer sheets, and they were all at work and unable to stop me!

And then I had my sandwich.

nom nom nom.

So then after my sandwich I start digging around for other things to use. I stole paint from j. m. bot and "The" Lovesmasher and crafty materials from MsGoblinPants.

(as I write this MsGoblinPants just walked in and has yet to notice the new artwork.)

I start painting on the dryer sheets. First using some black spraypaint I stole from "The" Lovesmasher. And then using some paint markers on the others that I stole from j. m. bot.

I started duct taping (stolen!) and sewing up the sides with thread stolen from MsGoblinPants.

I also stole a few beads too that are in the upper right hand corner there.

Stolen supplies! Mwah hah hah!

After I was done with my creation, which actually took a few hours of the rainy afternoon, I had to figure out where to hang it and in which direction (since it often isn't figured out till the last moment for me sometimes).

The window?

The door?

Oh! I know! The window was a bit too much of the light shining through, while the door didn't allow anything... clearly hanging it a little away from the wall would be the best. And I finally decided on putting it up horizontally.

And see, it even goes well there!

Now will the three of them notice via sf0 or by seeing it in their home? I have no idea!!!!

Edited to say that MsGoblinPants finally noticed it about 15 min after arriving home while "The" Lovesmasher did so immediately upon entering their home. I'm hoping j. m. bot will not notice until after seeing this. C'mon j. m. bot!

Well I'm sure it also had nothing to do with having WisCholera and barely moving! :) I'll be sure to make y'all art next time!

haha! FAIL! i saw it hanging up before i read the praxis! i would estimate i noticed it about 3-5 minutes after arriving home. see, ms. dejavoo, i AM observant.

however, i also FAIL because my first 3 guesses as to who put it there were not you. lovesmasher didn't think much of my guessing skillz.

My vote goes for the sandwich!

Also, nice choice on the placement of the art. I think it fits in quite well.

The art hanging remains in its place of honor to this day.
