I'm a freethinker.
My morals don't come from the
supernatural.
On May twenty-first
I attended a
Catholic Confirmation.
There was a lot of
standing up and sitting down
and some kneeling too.
I stood and I sat,
recited the Our Father,
but I did not kneel.
Only about half
of the standing room only
church took communion.
Seventy-one names
are listed in the program.
I know one of them.

Maybe I will write a tanka next time. ;)

I don't mind the form, either. But I worry you're too wedded to the early-American appropriation of the form: fun and formal, but too long!
fun.
even more fun.

lol, I was thinking about going to a catholic church service for this one. and I'd "take communion" except that the wafer thing would be my souvineer. dang, now I have to think of something else. *sighs* LOL good job well, I like the haiku form even if they don't
Haikus can be nice
But please, have you considered
Using other forms?
