We were in town anyway so we bought a book of six 1st class stamps from the Yarmouth Way Supermarket and some postcards from The Cake Hole shop on Marine Parade.
The postcards were the crappest we could find so we bought some rather grotty ones of the wind farm, seafront and also a cartoon one which tends to be typical of these kind of crappy seaside resorts. I put my address on half of them and Tom put his name on the other half and we took about 10 minutes writing little forms on the back of them. The little forms said things like "name?", "age?" etc.
We then used blu-tack to stick them up all over the seafront including postboxes, maps and car windscreens.
Update!
Adam got 2 back in the post, but they were blank D:

Yeah, I expect I will get at least one back because on the way back home Tom saw the postman emptying the post box where I put one and apparently the one I put there was gone

Good locations you picked out there...very visible, yet wacky.

As long as all profounds in Yarmouth, there is hope.
Will you update the task if any of them end up being mailed?
