Language "Encryption" by Javelin Moor

December 8th, 2006 2:04 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Using online translation tools, "encrypt" some text (that you write or find) by translating it multiple times into different languages and then back into English.

For instance, "The drive to play San Francisco Zero" translated from English to German to French to Italian to English again becomes "The order of Saint game Francisco".

English: tears, idle tears, I know not what you mean
Dutch: scheuren, nutteloze scheuren, weet ik niet wat u bedoelt
French: les déchirures, les déchirures inutiles, weet me non-ce que vous voulez dire
German: die Rißse, die unnötigen Rißse weet mich nicht, den Sie sagen wollen
English: the Rissse, which does not weet unnecessary Rissse me, which you want to say

Ay, me! If only AltaVista rivaled the performance of Douglas Adams.
