Journey to the End of the Night: Chicago/DC 2009 by jan

May 3rd, 2009 1:30 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Simultaneous pursuits across Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

If you participated in this two-city simultaneous Journey in any way (as a player, chaser, or volunteer), please post your story here. Tell us your story of fear, lust, pain, speed, alienation, loneliness, hate, and desire.

we took the Halsted bus from inside UIC to get to the point 3. on almost every stop from Roosevelt south more and more chasers were coming in. at certain point there were more players and chasers on the bus than regular customers. some players tried to jump out just before the bus took off from a stop and some of the chasers jumped after them. every player on the bus was speculating how to get safely out. we missed the 19th street and continued south with chasers just waiting for us to get out of the doors. the orange line saved us. we jumped from the bus into the station. after couple of minutes the air was clean and we started our way back to point 3.
it was great to find some new places in the city...and to made it as 21/277

It was great to see you two finish, working together with a single map!

Until next time, Jan.
