Language "Encryption" by John Porter

May 9th, 2006 12:15 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Using online translation tools, "encrypt" some text (that you write or find) by translating it multiple times into different languages and then back into English.

For instance, "The drive to play San Francisco Zero" translated from English to German to French to Italian to English again becomes "The order of Saint game Francisco".

Original:

"Matter tells space how to curve, and space tells matter how to move."
(Physicist John Wheeler, describing Einstein's General Theory of Relativity)

Used Google's own translation tool (http://www.google.com/language_tools):

English -> French -> German -> English -> Portuguese -> English

Result:

"The business explains the sector, because one surrounds, and the sector explains a business, as one is moved."
