The Shadow Is You by John G. X.

I originally wanted to take a shadow photo from the middle of the arched pedestrian overpass in Little Kyoto, at the corner of Geary and Webster. Alas, when I got there the sky was too hazy and the sunlight not strong enough for a good shadow — I thought the combination of the arch overpass shadow and elongated human shadow would have been interesting. But 'twas not to be.
So instead I went to the Civic Center to use some stone steps for dynamic background lines. The steps in Slant Shadow 2 are the Asian Art Museum. The bisecting diagonal shadows of Slant Shadow 1 come from the glass of a Muni bus shelter nearby.
Once taken, I imported the pictures into Photoshop, removed the color data to make the images black & white, then increased the contrast and boosted the film grain a little in order to make the overall effect more intense.

I really like the first picture a lot. Those stripes are everything.
