Acquisitions by Cthulhu Kitty

February 18th, 2007 4:06 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Collect everything you acquire in a seven day period. Examine, evaluate, explain.

I had not thought I would do this particular task while I was here, because I figured that I would not be able to acquire much at all. But then I read What is 42's task completion and I realized that if I looked at things a little differently, I might come up with a lot more than I initially thought I would.

Analysis:

Boy, am I in a rut! Granted, there's not much to do here but work, eat, sleep and exercise, but the truth is that apart from having a much wider variety of things to purchase back in the states, my life is not much different here than there. I tend to work, eat, watch tv, play computer games, exercise and sleep back home. I don't go out a whole lot apart from my Saturday runs and am not that far removed from being an agoraphobic. Here, it's even easier to stay away from people as there's not much at all available for social interaction. I sure am glad I found SF0 because my character is a lot less shy about talking to people than I am.

Hmmm...I may have strayed a little in my analysis, but I do think there's a relationship between what I acquire on a daily basis and how I go about through the world in my way to acquire it . Or maybe it's my reluctance to interact with others that has been shaping my choice of acquisitions. It's so much easier to order online than to talk face to face with salespeople, for example
