Junk Mail by Cthulhu Kitty

February 8th, 2007 3:49 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Read through all your junk mail for three days. This includes real world junk mail and email. Keep track of what each piece of junk mail is trying to sell you. After three days, make a list of all the products and services that you were offered and why you were offered them.

I have been trying to do this task for weeks. I signed up for it some time ago and waited for junk mail. and waited. and waited. Finally, I decided to turn my junk email filter to "low" in the hopes that more would sneak in. No luck. Discouraged, I dropped the task. Today, I opened up my email and discovered not one, not two, but seven emails trying to get my vast quantities of money:

1. paypal - offering to help me spot scams and protect my identity
2. Tubo tax online - promising my biggest refund ever
3. Xbox live - suggesting I get fresh with Marketplace
4. Sendit.com - selling dvds
5. WWE - am i ready for wrestlemania 23? (not really; i still need work on my sleeper holds)
6. Time Life - oh goody a coupon!
7. American Airlines - a treat for my sweetheart (???????????)

Days two and three:

1. Hotmail member services
2. Fran Cotton
3. Mystery@ Emily Strange
4. Microsoft Live
5. Military.com
6. Gamestop News
7. Star Trek The Experience
8. Ebay
9. MSN Games
10. Classmates.com
11. Monster Job
12. Military.com
13. Troll and Toad
14. Walt Disney Home Entertainment
15. United

Sadly, I did bring all of these on myself, by purchasing products from all of the above senders, even WWE (long story involving dating a wrestling fan)

Time to turn my junk mail filter back on...
