The Things We Bury For Our Friends by Celestia Ridgemore, Kate Saturday, Not Here No More

December 13th, 2010 4:12 PM / Location: 37.736401,-122.4202

INSTRUCTIONS: Bury something. Contact another player that you don't know in real life and give them instructions on where to dig it up. Your instructions can be either straight-forward or cryptic.

When you contact them you should also invite them as a collaborator on the task.

your package looks like this.

your package looks like this.

START.

START.

Instructions begin from the Murray St. Entrance. Stand with your back to the street, facing the park. There will be a 3-way forked path. Take the left fork (towards the courts, away from the playground). >>

SECOND.

SECOND.

There will be several trees as you walk up the path. This is the tree you want. It is at a diagonal from a lamppost. Standing directly in front of the large knot, your package is buried slightly around the tree, to the right.

Here is a closeup of the base, with the area of the buried package clearly marked. The umbrella will be gone by now.

the box was right where Eglantine said it would be. i felt very illicit digging in a public park in full view of people and their dogs, but no one raised a fuss.

I was filling the hole back in when suddenly a figure rushed by! it looked almost like... but it couldn't be.

When i looked back at the hole, the stranger had dropped a package. oh well, none of my business, better finish filling in the hole.

the young have to dig their way out of the nest and pull themselves to the dubious safety of the sea. too often, they're seized and taken to a vegan soulfood restaurant before they can get there.
