    At first I left a bowl in my mother's bed, to convey that I was hungry. She swiftly came to me and asked what was up with all the misplaced ceramics so I didn't feel like the message worked. After much deliberation, I found she had left an Elton John CD in my bedroom, so I placed it on her bed with an attached frowny face. She understands.
