Saucy Tales by LaughingBear

INSTRUCTIONS: Every ancient condiment in the back of your fridge is a tale of neglect and abandonment. Tell us yours.

My wife made some pork chops a few months ago, baking them with apricot jelly. While they were superb, we apparently have nothing else that it goes with. So the jelly sat unused in our old refrigerator (no pics as I had never heard of this game when we had it) and actually survived to be moved into the new refrigerator, where it will sit until it either develops the capacity to lead a condiment revolt or we have another dish that calls for it....

In the Fridge

You can just see that little jar of jelly hiding behind the big grape jelly and the salad dressing...

The Preserves That Time Forgot

Whoops. And here I was calling it jelly. Anyway, this stuff lasts forever. It may well still be edible the next time we have an urge for those sweet pork chops.

The Little Grill That Couldn't

Those pork chops were almost grilled here, but we decided against it on the grounds that no one likes a flaming grill.

The Oven Waits

In the end, the pork chops were baked here, and here is where the rest of the preserves will go as well on similar pork chops. I would add a photo of their ultimate fate, but no one wants to see that...
