Trespassing by Fiona

There were several different places I wanted to use for this task. I have taken to exploring beautiful parts of the coutryside that people have comandeered as gardens and there was one amazing garden with some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen on the Island and some caves and an amusing collection of parking meters that had been uprooted, plundered, and tossed over the cliff onto the property. Unfortunatly I didn't have a camera with me when I discovered the place. I was going to go back but then I was at the right place in Newport to spot this building, which although it is huge, is hidden from many angles and I had kind of assumed it had been demolished. I thought a new adventure was better than a repeat one so I drove all the way across the Island to borrow a camera, stopping to show a freind the secret village (trespassing the future) on the way, so it was a two adventure kind of day. It was a bank holiday so the industrial estate and businesses nearby were all empty, making it the best time for a little trespass.

When I got back from collecting the camera I heard noises coming from inside. I managed to convince myself it was just the wind and headed on round to catch the building from a few different angles. I saw through a fence that there were actually two police cars parked nearby but they didn't seem to be interested in this place so I snuck on by.

It was pretty easy to get inside. I will never damage a building for access, but very often someone else will have already been there and done it for you. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, nice brickwork, reminded me of an old railway station.
I noticed a very new and not abandoned looking bike, and then a face peered around the door at the far end, before retreating rather rapidly. I called out that I was friendly, and just as much not supposed to be there as them, and a bunch of teenage guys came out, exclaiming in surprisingly polite language that I had given them quite a fright.

The building had several sections. A second large warehouse type room:

An area that was probably offices and looks like it might have been quite upmarket, complete with firplace:

And a side building with three floors. The only way up from the ground floor was a very narrow ladder but there were stairs between the second and third. There was a door leading to the outdoors on each level so I guess they used pulleys to get stuff in and out:

Even though the place was abandoned it was still a good trespass. Got the adrenaline going due to relatively close proximity of cop cars and the addition of noisy teenagers.
Will have to look for another task to use the wonderfull garden.
A few more pics below, enjoy.
