Player Portrait by Captain Cutthroat, bgfinewmn
March 12th, 2011 11:22 PM / Location: 38.429410,-122.7048
At the end of another day full of anxiety over things that cannot be quickly resolved, sometimes the PERFECT mental remedy is a project that can be started and finished. Sir Cutthroat reminded me of the intrigue in life and all the possibilities before us. How did I repay him? Immortalizing his portrait in oil pastel. yikes.
Hrm, what to do with this work of art?
A 'Safety First' poster for a job site?
Decor for the house?
A strangers new bumper art? We shall see...

I'd like to make a pre-emptive defense of my portrait of bgfinewmn by saying that I am a spectacularly terrible artist, and only through clever application of science and technology was my portrait able to achieve any resemblance to the source material.
On a serious note, however, I seriously enjoyed this task. I'd had a suprisingly decent day at work, due mostly to the fact that I managed to sneak in a beer tasting at the nearby BevMo during my lunch break, and this was the perfect way to unwind with my favorite partner in crime. Also, t was my first time using a Wacom drawing tablet, and now I am definitely inspired to try out more things (and also learn more about Gimp my image editing program, and art in general).
I plan on printing it out using it as a bookmark!
