Wrong Holiday by Loya, Gadget
July 4th, 2006 7:40 PM
So I've been eagerly awaiting this 4th of July... not because it's Independence Day. Not because it's my Anniversary, but because it is the perfect opportunity to perform this "Wrong Holiday" task. You see, my city has a pretty big parade for the 4th of July and the float judging area was only blocks from my house.
It's time for Chirstmas on the 4th of July.
Several days ago, Loya, Jet (a non sf0 player), and I walked down to the parade site to scope it out and come up with a plan. Today, the 4th of July, we put that plan into action. Loya went undercover to scope out a spot at the parade. She would be in charge of the photos. Meanwhile, I prepared at home. When she was in position, she called me. Donning a Santa suit and a pair of skates, I sprung into action.
We only caught the tail end of the parade, but that gave me a perfect opportunity to skate the entire length of the parade site. The streets were closed and the sidewalks were laden with spectators, some of which had camped out overnight to get the perfect spot.
Needless to say, I was the unofficial hit of the parade. Kids were waving and yelling, "Santa, Santa!" and I would wave back at them with a jolly, "Ho, ho, ho". People were putting their hands out for high-fives as I skated by. On my way home, people were honking their horns at me. Some of the best comments that I heard were:
As a little side project, we also sent out a valentines day card, a halloween card, and a nightmare before Christmas card to some other SF0 players.

- Look, there's Santa!
- Um... I think you got the wrong parade.
- You're pretty skinny, Santa.
- I've been good! I've been good!
- Look, that's how Santa stays in shape
