i work in the presidio.
months ago a friend/coworker and i went for a walk and found this building.
approaching through this open gate
we entered the building through one of the sliding doors that was open.
after a few minutes of exploring i stopped my associate, put out my hand, and said "we are sleeping here tonight." he shook my hand and that night we returned to the building after getting prepared (drunk).

the building seemed much larger at night. we went up some stairs to the loft area where sheets of light came through slits in the wall. after being inside about 10 minuted i saw a police car through the partially open door we had entered through. the car just stopped. this scared the shit out of us because the presidio is federal land...so federal trespassing... we sat still for about 5 minutes and the car rolled on. after another couple minutes we ran like hell.
on the other side of the open fence we took a few minutes to regroup and decided to go back in. inside the building we heard some noises. maybe there were homeless people downstairs? we desided to search the whole building before settling down to sleep. with my trusty red LED keychain and a 2 AA cell LED light we started at one end and began searching our way across. the doorways where the scariest. is there someone in that tarp? better poke it. no? is that a defribulator? yes...better take that with us. deeper yet: into a narrow hallway with rooms opening on both sides. old bathrooms and lockers. who knows what might be in each one. don't use the flashlights too much, we dont want to alert the cops. what the fuck are we doing lets get out of here.
recently i decided to revisit the building. i went before work, but didn't try to get in because i noticed cops outside a little police station across the street. i I took the daytime pictures submitted and decided to return at night when i could be more sneaky. i returned to the open gate the next night.

upon finded the sliding doors all to be closed i did a little exploring around the area and found this ladder.

so i climbed the ladder took some pictures from the roof.
