My Dearest Homeland,
Land of my home, land of my ancestors, land of my birth. How many years has it been since I last felt your soft grass beneath my bare feet or smelled the sweet winds that blow from the mountains at dusk? My thoughts wander to you more often than not and I find myself longing to hear your voice whisper to me throughout the long day. Your rivers and valleys call to me despite the long years between visits. We have both changed, grown older, wiser, been hurt and been loved. To tell you of the time spent away from you, to listen to your own story, to feel you near me again is my dearest wish.
may we meet again,
AF

believe it or not I am from california. I was raised on my familys ranch. we call it "our homeland" since six generations have raised families, lived, died, and been burried on the land. It has only been a few years since I was last home, but that doesn't change the homesickness.
Where are you from?
