Object Annotation by Missish

INSTRUCTIONS: Pick a local public object that you enjoy and leave a note on it describing your feelings in great detail.

There's a park near my house that features many things - a children's play area, a golf course, some tennis courts, a wide open playing field, and some woods. Within these woods are some hanging bars.

I've always been a little uncertain as to the reason for the presence of these hanging bars, so I decided to write them a message.

            Dear Hanging Bars,

This is a note to show my appreciation for the work you do. You're
out in all weathers, and have been for many years, yet you never
complain. Instead, you continue to stand there, offering everyone who
passes the opportunity to attempt to pull themselves up. Why, you even
have three different height levels so that no one, tall or short, is
discriminated against. That's how considerate you are!

But it must be asked - how did you get here? And why? You are too
far from the play area to have been intended to be part of that. You
are seemingly randomly placed here in the woods. Were you supposed to
be part of an exercise course that never came to fruition? Or were you
part of one, many years ago, with all of your fellow obstacles having
faded into the bleak oblivion of weather? Is that are - are you the one
remaining remnant of what once was?

I must thank you, Hanging Bars, for the underappreciated role you
have played in my life. And, indeed, in the lives of so many others who
stumble upon your magnificent frame as they traverse this park.

Thank you, and good luck for the future.

Love,
An appreciative admirer

The finished product!

I might go back in a couple of days to see if it's still there. Although knowing the 'youngsters' around here, it'll either be gone, or someone will have edited it with profanities.
