Pimp My Ride by Non Players, Zoo Babies Pet Animals

Alright, kids, I'm going to keep a diary of this one and hopefully it will be done before the next era begins.
I am deciding to pimp my bicycle. It's not really that cool looking right now, but it's going to be.

Today I began to take my bike apart. We're pretty much done with all of that, but the only problem is we need a chain cutter to get the chain off of the bike. We tried banging a hammer over it on a rock for hours but this proved to be very futile. That's what's up now.

Okay, so I'm no good at keeping diaries. But I DID finish pimping my ride. I decided that I'm better at just taking pictures and making captions. So that's what you get.

I forgot to say that refinishing bikes is hard. You can use this as a loose tutorial but nothing is a substitute for patience. And, also, good lighting. If i had to change anything about this, I would have changed that. Also, if you want some intricate complex thing on your bike, be prepared to a) FUCK UP (but i wouldn't know because I didn't try anything like that .... i did have hoop dreams, though) and b) take a lot of time and use good materials. I want to do another one... I will have to get a little retrospective on myself and listen to my own advice. But, nonetheless, I am very please with the results... babe hawaii, I wish i had your patience and excellent documenting skills. props!

i've been planning to build a bike as a summer project for... well, since last summer. there still might be time to do it this summer. i will definitely check back to this praxis when the time comes for tips and inspiration.

There's an article in Make magazine about un-pimping your bike so it isn't a target for thieves.
