Ariadne Unemployed by Cloud

After a seemingly boring week, I was excited when I friend offered me a spot in her car to go to Seattle, FREE! Not having any previous obligations, I took that opportunity immediately. Halfway there, for some reason - traffic got really shitty. I had brought a Toblerone bar with me that melted in the car - this made me very grumpy! We eventually made it before the sun went down though, and we parked a few blocks east of Pike Place. I couldn't help myself with the selection at some of the stores there - so I bought an awesome bottle of French wine for around $15. I had sushi and chicken pot-stickers at a place not to far from the grocery store. I forgot that Washington had sales tax - which I was not used to, being from Oregon.
We took a walk west towards the shores to get a better sniff of the ocean breeze. The gps on our friend's phone was leading us way off course, so we asked some locals nearby how to get to the Space Needle. We eventually found it and paid for some more expensive tourist parking. The Space Needle was just as awesome as I remember it being when I was a kid - only now I had to pay for myself, and it was pricey! Looking down from the top, we saw we were really close to a park with a flat labyrinth in it. I had to go. I dreamed about the unreachable restaurant above me momentarily. We took our time at the top and got a few 'facebook pictures' with the skyline behind us before going back down to earth.
Once my feet hit pavement again, I quickly hiked to the aforementioned area and found said labyrinth. It was covered with children and there were a lot of 'cheaters' that did not understand the importance of this task. I saw it as a minefield that had to be carefully traversed; and in the middle was my only hope for salvation. Countless others screamed and fell victim around me as I pledged to finish what they could not. I was quiet, steady, focused. Three quarters of the way into this two-dimensional dungeon, my friends caught up with me and one of them joined me while the other took a picture. I had won. No one understood my glory - and no one challenged me either.
