Escape from the Camera II by GYØ Brett, GYØ George, GYØ Ben, Adam, Tøm, Storer, Askew., GYØ Jordan, GYØ Daryl

February 11th, 2008 4:45 AM / Location: 52.608025,1.7376422

INSTRUCTIONS: Go to a very public place with a video camera and at least two people. One person turns on the camera. The other(s) must run away from it like mad, as though their lives depended on it. The person with the camera must give chase. Bonus points if anyone actually escapes the camera. Video proof is essential.

(With large groups, this could turn into a big, public game of video tag, where the camera person tags a runner and that runner takes over the camera.)

Sorry about the late submission and all, we (note: and by "we", he means "Ben") just don't like editing
video, uploading pictures and writing up tasks straight away it seems.
Anyway, here's EFTCII!

10am, Saturday 19th January, Britannia Pier
Wet.

Most of GYØ meet outside Britannia Pier. It's wet. The rainy sort of wet. As far as I (Tom) know, all they were doing is standing and moaning about the lateness of someone, who will for now remain un-named.

So, about ten minutes later I arrived, and was promptly pushed into a nice puddle of wet for being late, and we set about the task in hand. As in, we sat in a bus shelter moaning about the rain, and discussing the task. During this, I slowly get my camera out, and cunningly start filming. I shout GO! and immediately tag Ben, who puts the camera on the floor and walks away. Fail.

So then we started properly, I was made first chaser as punishment for being late, and the others quickly sped off. I am not a fan of exercise, and it took a while for me to catch Jordan, and then I lost track of everything, so I'll just describe the general happenings.

There was fair tagging, and we quickly established a 'no tagbacks' rule on account of us unfit people not being able to move after running fast enough to catch someone, let alone run away. There was concealment of the camera and claims of not being the chaser, which resulted in some funny catches. A safe zone was declared, again for the unfit Yarmouthians among us. Jordan jumped off a pier. Daryl ran! George and Adam went to get a drink halfway through the game. We were chased out of the arcade by an angry welsh man. Adam slipped over, Daryl slipped over, George slipped over, Tom slipped over, Storer slipped over. Brett jumped over a wall.

Much hilarity ensued.

In the end, Brett won, with only 1 time being the video-er, which was to be expected, as Brett is generally the winner at everything.

Anyway, watch the video and see for yourselves!

Ben's bit:

Yes, I didn't edit this video very quickly, but Adobe does not like Tom's camera and we had to find alternate methods of exporting the video.

Then, suddenly it worked.

There was more footage than this, but the best bits remain in the video.

Wow. GY0 got girls? Well, one at least. Keep growing n' growing!

I'd say give bonus points because it sure seems like a couple people escaped (the first two videos are so abandoned it feels like the task instructions to be in a very public place were ignored!)

Any other day, that pier would have been packed. But we were only free on the horrible, wet, unpacked day.

Blithering bother.

P.S. GYØ's always had girls - GYØ Askew!

That looks like it was really fun! The Yarmouth boardwalk area is cool, I like the arcade. My favorite part is when you surprise George at the end.

To use your strange language: "Cheers!"

Adam, are you just reading a book in a nook while everyone else runs around in the wet? I want to give you points just for that!
