Urban Exploration 1 by mock piratey turtle, Fenton Crackshell

remarkably enough, i managed to urban explore, right in my very own home. I was just beginning to move in, so while not technically "abandoned", it was moreorless "unoccupied" at the time. Just beginning to put things in my closet, i found a tiny door. This tiny door led into a huge secret space inside the wall. of course, it had to be immediately and thourghly explored. With the help of Vladypus, who had gotten roped into helping me move, we crawled inside, found much treasure, and just when we thought we had reached the end of our journey we discovered another space at the end. it turned out that it was possible to crawl along a very long and very narrow space balanced on a single roof beam along the front eves of the house to another huge secret room at the front of the house (this room is begging to be filled with secret treasure, or large murals). it was slow going, many splinters were recieved, and we ran the risk of falling through the cieling if we lost our ballance on the narrow beams, but an exciting adventure to have in one's own home! Especially near the front of the room there was much treasure found, including coffee cans that appear to have been filled with newspapers (which have since disintagrated), a purse with small metal figurines in it, and really bad porn from the 80's.
one thought reoccured to me again and again throughout the exploration:
"my my, this would be a perfect place to keep a Kidnapping victim..."

insulation? who knows. maybe thats why this house is so drafty. its a very old building like early 1900's i'm told. its the wall between my wall and the actual roof. under the eaves, and along the front part of the roof/ceiling.

The door reminds me of the one in Being John Malkovich.

Someday, I will have seen every task piratey has done. Until then, coming across gems like this will continue to be a treat and a welcome surprise. :)
Awesome. How very Narnian. Borrowers-esque, even. where's all the insulation? was this an interior wall?
