Wrong Holiday by mock piratey turtle, Cunning Linguist

June 12th, 2006 10:49 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Celebrate a holiday on a different holiday. By completing this task, participants will help to erode artificial boundaries of the 'real' world associated with time.

Halloween on Valentine's Day, Christmas on the Fourth of July, Father's Day on Mother's Day, New Year's Eve on Thanksgiving.

Super Duper Bonus Points go to complete holiday swaps (celebrating Valentine's Day on Halloween and then Halloween on Valentine's Day).

*June 9th*
If history has ever served as a worthwhile reference, this date reserves a few noteworthy moments:
– Victory Day as the end of the "Great Patriotic War".
– Europe day, commemorating the "Schuman declaration".
– Liberation Day (*commemorating the end of the German Occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II).
– Roman Feast of the Lemures.
– World Cup 2006 kicks off in Munich, Germany.
– Piratey and Cunning partake in ridiculous Halloween Party.

This party was particularly crazy, due to the amount of people that actually dressed up, the amount of intoxicants consumed by fellow partiers, the über friendly topless girl w/ suspenders on, and Piratey dressed up like a monkey and really just being the life of the party. I think at one point, Cunning actually got on the turntables and layed some vinyl down.

Also, we thought it might be kind of hard to prove that this Halloween Celebration actually did occur on June 9th, 2006 and not on (or around) October 31st, XXXX, but a few items of interest may validate this task:

1. This party wasn't just a themed dress-up party, it specifically was a Halloween party, as someone alludes to this in the beginning moments of the video.

2. Cunning chose to dress up as a soccer player, but not just any soccer player. He wore Ecuador's national team's home jersey with the Ecuadorian flag draped on his back. This is particularly symbolic since Ecuador played the second game of the 2006 World Cup on June 9th, versus Poland, and won 2-0. (Cunning is very patriotic regarding his country of origin). Further evidence of this is in the video.

The video is 5 minutes long, and at times it is downright bad cinematography, but lets see you hold a camera in such a way that would actually capture clear/still video while also maintaining the camera somewhat hidden.

You're all going to be sorry when you have to celebrate The Russian "Victory Day" in October when everyone else is gorging themselves on candy and going to costume parties.

But where are the pumpkins? Cobwebs? Skeletons on the walls?

we only have to celebrate v-day on halloween if we want uber-extra bonus points.

Cunning: i like that you blacked out suspender-girl's face, but not her.... uh...'Huge Tracts of Land'. way to cement the uncensored nature of the game!

Ha! Okay. The video had me laughing, but also asking one question:

What did Piratey have in her pockets?!?
