Spies Like Us!
So, I was supposed to do this puzzle quest with my boyfriend and his brother. They are very good at puzzles, and have the logic-math-solving thought process. But the Monday before puzzle quest the boyfriend dumped me! Then, the brother realized he was too busy working on his mutant vehicle for Burning Man to be on my team. I was miserable and teamless and I didn't really want to play at all. BUT! This puzzle quest was happening at this time at least partly because I was so sad that I missed the first one, and Journey was planned for after I was supposed to be in Colorado. So in some ways I was obligated to play! Although no one would have said anything if I didn't, either.
At the last minute my cousin (who TOTALLY RULES!!) said she wanted to play and bring a friend. So, it was game on!
I already had a bad-ass team name: Sex, Lies, and SuperSpies
And, I put together a bad-ass spy-girl outfit. (although the fedora was not mine and was added later).
My goal was to be the best-dressed spy and to have fun despite my low-mood. And what do you know....SUCCESS!
My team was not last, by some miraculous twist of fate. We have no idea how that happened, but it did. At some points we were waaay too literal, at other points, not literal enough. We didn't really have a person with a different thought-process to help us see puzzles in a different way. But, I had fun, I went, and I am really really looking forward to the next one. I'm totally flying a team in from NY and Portland!
