One of my coworkers has a large box fan that she uses to keep cool when the building heat/ac is not in sync with how we feel. This fan has been around for quite awhile, and its age was showing. The front cover had completely fallen off, and was usually just leaned up against the fan while the blades were spinning. I had an almost brand new box fan that had been sitting in storage, and decided to gift it to my coworker. So I brought it into work today, gave it to her, and a few hours into the day, half of the power went out in the building. That half included the air conditioning and the temperature climbed to 84 degrees inside (only 73 outside!). Luckily with her new fan she (and the rest of us) were able to keep reasonably cool. :)
