INSTRUCTIONS: Show someone a better way to solve a mundane problem they are facing.

At my friend's house, she has a swimming pool. It goes about 12 feet deep. After her cousin dove to the bottom and complained of water in her ears, my friend told her to shake her head back and forth. When that didn't work, I told her to hold her nose and try to blow out of it. It helped right away, and really impressed both of them. :3

The Valsalva maneuver is dangerous if performed incorrectly by blowing hard while holding your nose.
Saying this as a former free diver and competitive swimmer, please stick to shaking and jumping with your head tilted, yawning as you would in an airplane, or simply waiting for the water to come out on its own.
