Trash Liberation by spotlight skullshines

June 21st, 2006 5:15 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Pull something still of value - as itself or as a part of something greater - out of a dumpster or trash receptacle. Use it, and provide appropriate proof.

(Note: No points awarded for picking up stuff left on street corners and curbs around the city; it must be liberated from an actual trash receptacle.)

I love basketball too much not to vote for this. Also, I'm a sucker for a well told story...and street art in general.

Is the hoop still there? I wonder how the construction workers reacted to it.

Nice

Rob, I thought this was awesome. I like task completions that have the potential to fulfill multiple task definitions; this one made me think of "Information Insertion."

the hoop

was up for something like 2 weeks. (as i said, i pass it everyday)
then last thursday, i noticed it had not only been removed, but someone removed it pretty violently
and had ripped a large section out of the top of the board, none of the murals images were injured
but, since i had opted for gravity over bolts, the force was totally unnecessary.
weird.

i just realized.

This liberated trash couldn't have been any use to anyone as it seems to be above the scaffolding

I love the string of associations this must have required... was this your first dumpster dive, or did you have
to try several times before you found such a great match?
