Get up, Take a shower, Eat Breakfast, Go to work by Rowan Mikaio
January 24th, 2009 1:21 AMIt completely changes the experience.
Unfortunately, I took screencaps, and when I inverted the screen back, they re-inverted, as well. It was poorly planned on my part. I don't have anything to re-invert them, so you can use paint on a PC or invert your mac to see what I saw.
You may even be able to repeat this experiment in a Windows computer using Paint. I know that if you take a screenshot of a movie and then open it in paint, when you play the movie, the screenshot in paint will update in real time, so that you effectively can watch a movie using the paint program. I never tried to see what would happen if you inverted the colors of the screenshot before you hit play. Let me know if any of you try it!!!

(I think you can tell you don't need to invert this one) I'm wrapped in my nice warm fuzzy blanket, sitting on my bed, and ready to watch a great movie on my computer.

The Title Screen. Even this early on, it makes a big difference to have the colors inverted. The bright blue sky becomes a dismal orange color with dark, stormy clouds. It looks closer to twilight than midday, and not a happy opening.

The blobs that chase Howl and Sophie at the beginning are now bright white, rather than dark and scary. It makes them seem etherial, a little.

I got engrossed in the movie. I saw lots of things that jumped out with the colors inverted that I never noticed when it was normal. Here at the climax of the movie (I won't spoil what's going on for those who don't know), it becomes much more sinister to see Howl holding a black orb radiating darkness. It's very fitting, and oddly disturbing at the same time.
