Such odd open ended questions are the beauty of this game. I plan to be impressed by someone's completion of this task. I also expect to be disappointed by someone that thinks they've completed it but really haven't. Such is SFZero.

From their website: "Admission is $100 Cash at the door." That's 100 points lost right there in anti-consumer, not counting transportation and lodging.

Also, why should SF0 support a specific group? Why not go to TED? HOPE? WWDC? MacWorld? YearlyKos?

I already have mild qualms about having an event that requires admission to Burning Man, although I understand that a strong percentage of the serious SFZero players are burners.

I'm not against Burning Man or Defcon, I'm just against SFZero in a backwards way endorsing another organizations' event that requires paid admission.

Rubin-

Started out on the beach in SF.

That doesn't make any difference.

A fair number of SF0 players from both major regions (SF and MN) will be headed down there, so the task is more for an SF0 get together at the event then a HEY KIDS YOU MUST GO TO THIS EVENT TO SCORE TWO POINTS.

Then why is it a task? If a fair number of SF0 players are going to be there anyway, then why not just get together? That's like saying "A bunch of SF0 players from SF and MN are going to be at the Fillmore seeing a show, let's make an SF0 task out of it!"

Of what I know of Gadget and the lot that I know about Burning Man - I'm sure the task will be of task-worthy-caliber and will be much better than my hypothetical example. Therefore, I am in no way suggesting it shouldn't exist, but you get my point, right?

Rubin-

Being all things to all people is a goal if you want to be just a notch up from MySpace. This is a good thing if you're aiming for the lowest common denominator. I don't see this game as having that type of community.

Having a completely open system that has self-, peer- and overlord-moderated isn't oxymoronic. There is an art in being the bazaar instead of the cathedral without letting the inmates running the asylum. The creators of SFZero have been around the block enough to understand this concept well and to appreciate the difficulty of balance. You won't need to pray to them.

Lastly, you deliver more negative comments about other peoples' created tasks than anyone on this site. Cut it. :-)

P.S. to Flint Park: Mind that I'm talking to Rubin here, not you.

Thanks for the votes and comments. Again, this task was a real treat. Very fulfilling to see Robert evolve at the end. I'm glad you appreciated it too.

I hope this doesn't get the big "x," -- if -- you explain why you think you are a perpetrator of the crisis. Collect evidence against yourself and explain your rule in being a perpetrator. The key is to show, not tell.

A great example is Chicken Farmer's completion of Dogmatics 101: Know Why. He started out with a simple paragraph or so that didn't say much. His friends prodded him to elaborate more on it. He re-did the task explaining how he believed in much more detail. While I can see the task done even better, he certainly came a long way and did well for a newer player. He ended up with the current high score for the task.

Wow. Thanks for tasking this task on. It's the first time anyone's completed one of my tasks and the feeling I had watching this (along with my laughter) made my day. If I had votes available I'd throw one on this. The use of your own piano "integrated" with the locked grand was fantastic. Thanks too for getting some reactions in there.

And on July 31, Piratey Monkey of all people decides to vote on this task. I find that a bit funny. :-)
