Journey to the End of the Night: San Francisco Halloween 2010 by Dorkus Peabrain

Always sign up for a game in which starts after sunset and you are advised to bring water and wear sturdy shoes.
Wig bobbing, frantic decisions, emphatic cackling. I for one appreciated the fact (look behind you) that I couldn't let my guard down. It was exactly what a Halloween event should be- like I was trapped in a scary movie, continually scanning the horizon for compatriots, people to run with and ask questions, or people to avoid, to scream at and yell and dart away from, heart pumping, quick (cross the street, there's someone coming) as a flash.
Moving quickly and inconspicuously- in real life, in this beautiful giving City, on my own two feet. Instant allies in dark places, nervous movement and (look behind you) much mapmaking.
You think, the closer the next safety zone, the easier it will be. No. That is not the case. The closer the next safety zone, the more creative (look behind you) you have to get there. Buena Vista park isn't meant to be traversed in silence by 8 strangers in pitch black, but, really, isn't that what the sturdy shoes are for?
And just when that gorgeous Golden Gate grass is in sight, it's so beautiful, it's the most relaxing concept you could imagine right now, it's calling to you, beckoning to you, step on me and be free, roll around on me and let your guard down; that's right when you forget to look behind you.

Glad you played!
