I chose the hubs-to-be. I didn't think cats counted ... which is unfortunate. Anyways,I drew him as a bell. In Buddhism, the ringing of a bell symbolizes the beginning of a period of meditation and mindfulness. When the bell rings, it symbolizes that it is time for the body to relax and become aware. I am not religiously Buddhist, though we did bond through a shared interest in Buddhist philosophy. My hubs-to-be is also my bell – he grounds me, relaxes me, and helps me to be aware. I learn to listen, experience, and practice mindfulness through him. In a very specific sense, it is his job to ensure that I spend time mindfully and, when needed, away from my work, which is consuming.
