The Playa Task: An Event by space bug, Rubin Starset, lark, star5, Ink Tea, S 4, Oliver X, Celina, Vaxjo Aberg, mock piratey turtle, spotlight skullshines, Rabbit, Anna Tonkonogui, Danger D. HotBod

Inky: I was on Team Dust with Rabbit and some non-SF0ers (one of whom ended up being a friend of mine from the onlines and joined because of the playa event- they'd seen the event in the Burning Man event guide and thought it was crazy enough to try it- show up with duct tape on your right shoe? What?) Our team's clue was written in spanish, and was about alpacas, bathrooms, and low tea, which somehow was very easily put together. We made our way towards the Johnny-on-the-Spot porta-potties near where low tea was held, and very nearly re-named ourselves Team ADHD. I chased after a zebra art car, we climbed through some texture intensive art pieces, and eventually made it to our porta-potties, one of which had a posting with a picture of an alpaca on it, and tear-off phonenumber style slips with the same sequence of numbers on them. The porta-potties also had a series of words across the top of each of them, which we did not understand entirely, but recorded just in case. We also discovered one of the porta-potties played music. We made our way back to the cafe, almost stopping to learn to walk on stilts, but deciding (in error) that we didn't have enough time. Wasted much time in Center Camp as other teams continued to try to figure out their clues, and too many people worked on decoding them. Played some BRC0 before we made our way out to the airport en masse. There was a game of steal the hat, and a bike race with Olly which caused me to break the UV filter on my manual camera. The game, overall, was quite fun, and it was good to get to chat with Mr. Rabbit.

what was the general idea behind the game? follow clues all the way to wiskey?
Hmm. The collaboration still leaves me a bit confuddled, but normally that's the stuff for group endeavors. If this is the one we're gonna use, we ought add you and kick out those who (as far as I know) weren't involved. Or we could drop this one and use yours... Beverly and Vax weren't in on this as far as I know...
Yay!
I'll post the "playa task" objective and game details as soon as I get the photos developed (there was a disposable camera involved in completing the task).
I'm not sure that there is a protocol for group endeavors. Submit your proof together or as a group. It's up to the people involved.
Yeah, everyone should be together in one group. (Not me, I was not there...yet) Although I do think it's funny that Vax keeps getting points by doing nothing except socializing! Perhaps he could be added to un-birthday too since he was there. I'm mostly kidding, but do find it hilarious!
yeah i got left out.
well, at least i got my fair share of whiskey (or probably more).
waiting for someone to upload all those pictures from the disposable camera
I've included Spotlight, Piratey, and Rabbit. I can't include Alis, as she's already submitted the task on her own.
i wish you did the task later, i was still covered in 2piR
No love for the Rubin? :(
I'm going to try to get photos upload some time today.
I've pointed the incongruities out to the Daemon... I'd love to have us all together in one entry. I didn't know.
From the evidence in Gadget's photo, I count thirteen players finishing. Beverly Penn was not one of them, she wasn't even in Nevada, though it would have been nice to see her there. I believe someone has confused Uncle Gabby's name with Uncle Pauly's. (Uncle Pauly was on my team.)
The "winning players" photo shows these players, I'm pretty sure:
OliverX, Alice Gray, Space Bug, Rabbit, Star5, S 4, Gadget, Spotlight Skullshines, Rubin Starset, Celina Copperbottom, Uncle Pauly, Ink Tea, Piratey Monkey
Since the task only says you have to participate, not win, others are likely involved. I don't actually remember who else was there at this point. Team Dust's group photo has who in it?
Yup, to confirm what Alice said, I was there... though it looks like "Uncle Gabby" is really Piratey Monkey...? (I hope her name change wasn't a commentary about my inane chatter.)
Oh, and there were a few others who contributed, but didn't follow us to the end. Danger D. Hotbod is the only one whose name I remember.
Uncle Gabby is indeed Piratey, renamed because of a kiss with Drinky Crow. Anna was part of Team Dust, one of the random BRC folks who showed up because of the entry in the events list, who is now part of SF0. Beverly and Vaxjo ended up part of the task because they had listed themselves as collaborators wayyyy back when Gadget first posted the likelihood of the task, before it had been submitted. They'll have to be pulled off by the administrators, and Alis' version of the playa task will have to be erased by the admins for her to collaborate on this one.
It'll get worked out. It takes a little time sometimes. I'm adding collaborators as they're being pointed out to me.
If you've already submitted the task separately, we get this error when trying to add you to the task: Sorry, the person you are trying to add is already in another collaborative group. (Uncle Pauly, Alis)
Hmm... the weird thing is that I *didn't* submit this task as completed, but it looks like somebody did in my stead. In fact, even though it said that I had completed it, it said that it was also my *current* task at the same time! I dropped it from my task list yesterday, but it still shows as completed. Perhaps some SF0 admins did some weirdness with this?
It's also possible that Alis added you. I don't know. I couldn't say.
Hmmmm...I have absolutely no idea how I got added to this task, as I wasn't even at BM. Someone must have added me. So, I must find a way to take myself OFF the list. Can someone do this for me?
i added aaron muszalski, who is sfslim. he didn't finish, but he was in my group early on.
also still, vaxjo wasn't a part of the task as far as i know.
...what's the usual protocol for group endeavors? because there were more people than that involved. (I added my own myself.)
