Audio Montage by star5

July 21st, 2006 1:16 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Create an audio montage by overlaying multiple audio tracks into one.

I layered 4 tracks together. I started with a vocal piece recorded off a phone. Then there is piano piece from a Hal Hartley movie. Another is a part of a song from Dumb Type, an experimental audio/visual perfromance group. The last track I took a sound an repeated it, but I started this so long ago, that I have forgotten where I found the sound.

Oh wow. This is amazing. I love how the piano and the phone tone echo one another in the opening. I wish you'd made it longer, though. On second thought, I hate this. You made it too short, you tease. Just as I was started to get pulled in and elated, it ends. I'm going to both vote for this and flag it, like a spurned lover who brings you flowers and spits insults at you, over and over and over again.

I hate you, I love you, be mine.

Seriously! I want to lay on the floor and listen to this and be immersed, but by the time I'm on the floor in a good position and I close my eyes, I breathe in, and IT'S OVER!

star5, this is so very lovely. You won me at Hal Hartley.

Wow, it's great. I like the phone recording. It reminds me of the Pilote song "Message from the Bigman," which is high praise as I love that song.

Also I love the idea of both voting and flagging, like a spurned lover who brings you flowers and spits insults at you, over and over and over again.

thank you.

sorry ink.. i thought about making it longer.. but both the poem and the piano bit were just the right length. it all just fit. i'd rather it leave you wanting more than go on too long and lose your interest.

but i understand. this is often why i don't like short stories and tend to avoid collections of them.. because if i actually really like them, then so often i want more.

I agree... just as it was lulling me into that beautifully tranquil place, it ended. More, more, more!

Can I flag something more than once? My flag button is back. I think if I can flag something more than once, I should be able to vote for it multiple times, too.

Or is this more like you've seen through my protests, and seen that I'm actually crazy about Star's montage?
