Journey to the End of the Night: Vienna 2010 by Fission Chips

This was my second run & there were 9 people in my starting team. Some of them have already taken part in a run before, and some hadn't.
We didn`t expect to see that many people on the starting point. It was raining like hell and most of us were already soaked at the time of our arrival. However, We got our maps and ribbons and after a short introduction of some basic rules and the introduction of the "base Chasing Team" where most of them wore great outfits and masks, some of which were really scary *brrrr*, the journey went off.
I most liked the warning that "cars are still real", we had to deal wit that a couple of times later on (getting wetter and wetter).
Five minutes into the game our group split for the first time because we had some chasers behind us when we tried to get on the train. We then rejoined at the first Checkpoint which was a lovely Tea Partey on a hill in Türkenschanzpark with some really cool dressed guys. We then went on to the second Checkpoint which was near Vinzensgasse, this was also the Checkpoint for the "hunTU" scavenger hunt. Here we lost two of our girls who were already tired and completeley soaked.
The rest of us went on,... in the wrong direction.
It took some time and some fighting till we realized that we went on and on until suddenly *bam* one of our team members was caught by a Chaser. Only 4 of us left we managed to arrive at the third Checkpoint. There should have been some kind of game taking place but we coulnd't do that anymore because some of the people living there argued that it was too late and we should get out and clean the mess up and for gods sake shut the f*ck up.
We arrived quite late at this checkpoint and weren`t really motivated to go on and so joined one of the "hunTU" Organisers for a beer at "Weberknecht" where later on also the Finish Party was held. Although it was raining as hell it was still great! If it wasn`t for the rain we would have stayed longer and I guess a lot of other people would have too. I saw a lot of people who got caught and than weren't motivated to chase the other runners, which I can understand, although it made it quite boring for the runners when there istn't anyone chasing them.
However, I`m looking forward for the next journey since in the whole run it was really a lot of fun and very, very well organized. What I liked a lot was that all the runners I met were very nice and joining them for some time was great fun each time. Some runners gave hints where to go to look for the checkpoints and some even warned you about chasers they had seen in the surrounding areas.

I did a vid about the run too, watch it here =>
