On the 1st of November, while visiting Auckland city for a librarians' conference, I went to a day-late Hallowe’en party dressed in 'Dia de los muertos' garb.
I lived in Auckland for the first 18 years of my life, and-- as is pretty common where home towns are concerned-- every time I go back to visit I see it with different eyes. It's an interesting way to gauge how time is passing, and I'm changing.
This seems a nice mix of the things that are inspiring me at the moment, and a good idea for a 'character' image. Zoot-suit riots, complex patterns, passing time, hotel rooms and travel,
I want to remember this moment; at this point in time I think I'm doing a lot of looking backwards in order to apprehend my future.
