Invent a new person that you are friends or foe with. (in Real Life not SFZero) spread stories and rumors about this false person to all your friends and family and continue to do so until they are integrated into your life. Create their own website, email accounts, blogs and so forth. Take it to an extreme where you begin to forget that they are not real, and thus they are born.

I might invent a twin who I'm at odds with...
I'm torn. Part of me thinks this is blasting greatness… part of me (probably the part that studied psychology) thinks it’s a little frightening… I think the blasting greatness part is winning.
I know what you mean, that's why I can't tell which part is winning.
This reminds me of the creation of Mean Jeannine, who has since actually ceased to be fictional.
