Reverse Madlibs by Water Dragon

October 23rd, 2006 4:54 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Play a game of reverse madlibs. Use the results to fill out your character's profile, if you wish. To play: either use the reverse madlibs generator below (from adlib.sfzero.org) or:
1. find a partner.
2. player 1 writes down a secret list of words or phrases.
3. player 1 gives player 2 the type of speech for each word/phrase (like "noun" or "verb + adverb")
4. player 2 writes down sentences, leaving blanks for the mystery words.

We decided that it would be more fun if we both did both parts of this task by alternating. So we each wrote down a secret list of words and their parts of speech. We then picked a theme of "Rome and Juliet" with Tom writing the parts for Romeo and Water Dragon writing the parts for Juliet. We then interspersed our sentences and examined the humorous results.

This task was made particularly interesting since English is not Tom's first language, being Dutch and all.

  • Tom: "Juliet, I came as {gigantic} as possible to see your lovely {monster}, to hear your beautiful {window} and {quietly} fill your skin", Romeo said.

  • WD: Juliet {loved} to Romeo and said, "Oh Rome! Oh Romeo! How I long to kiss your {tree} and caress your sweet {rocket}!"

  • Tom: "What nice! I just {tripped} with your {pink} mother who {skipped} your father."

  • WD She smiled her {pink} smile at him and {rocked} him on the {powerbook} with her tender {tea}.

  • Tom: Do you want to {amble} with a {gazebo} or is too {enormous} for a {grumpy} lady like you?

  • WD: "Romeo, won't you please {think of} my heart beautifully?" she pleaded.

  • Tom: "To show my love, I have bought you a {poem}."

  • WD: "If I can not kiss your {candy} tonight as you {will win} my {SF0} with your {dog} I fear I will {have been wasting} from the longing of it" Juliet said.

  • Tom: "What do you say? I {glue} the {bridge} for {pants}."

  • WD: She {artificially} {kissed} as she reached for his {front door}.

  • Tom: "I will never {punch} and {blow} with you again. Keep the {silly} {lips} and get away from {kite} as {smelly} as possible.

  • WD: "Oh Romeo! You have touched my {cell phone} most sweetly with your {Aristotle} forever {didn't do} with yours, my love."

The End.

Our favorite sentences in this thing are:

  • Oh Rome! Oh Romeo! How I long to kiss your {tree} and caress your sweet {rocket}!
  • "What nice! I just {tripped} with your {pink} mother who {skipped} your father."
  • Do you want to {amble} with a {gazebo} or is too {enormous} for a {grumpy} lady like you?
  • To show my love, I have bought you a {poem}.

I particularly enjoy the "as she reached for his {front door}."

She's too much of a lady to reach for his back door!

LOL. I didn't notice the implication to the "back door". I was thinking more along the lines of leaving him. Too funny dude. Thanks!
