Trespassing by Ty Ødin

February 21st, 2010 3:38 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Go somewhere you are not allowed to go.

I decided to go for a walk and penta-trespass (that's five, right?). The story is fully detailed in the pictures below, but I'll sum it up here.

First I walked down to the now-closed country club. The club closed at the first of the year, but my immediate target, the club pool, (Trespassing location 1) has been defunct for 6 months. I have fond memories of swimming as a member of the Atascocita Gators here, but they all fled from here in the time it took the pool to drain. I kicked around the pool a little while and decided to hurry on to the country club. I jumped into the pump room (Numero 2) for a little bit, but the pumps were off, no longer making the reassuring hum that I had come to associate with the country club.

The club was closed, locked, and double locked, but it wouldn't stop me! I sprung up between a tree and a wall and let myself in through the kitchen door (#3!), like I used to do when the club was open. Fortunately, the door was (still) unlocked. Unfortunately, the alarm was still on. I had to escape before taking any pictures, fleeing through a hole (!?) int he brick masonry of the wall on the far side of the club. I plan to return to the club when the power is out next.

I hit the tennis courts on the way out, and found an unlocked door. I was so-OoOo glad that I didn't have to climb the chain fence (#4). I set off for home, running across the golf course where mere months ago I would be shooed off by golfers (5th). I got home soon after, taking a quick nap with my favorite dog ever, ranger.

This is how I got into the pool.

Locked, locked, and locked.

Here's the 6'5"ish wall around the pool.

Lap pool

Lap pool

Here's the lap pool where I used to swim when I competed. It's just a shell now. A shell that I ran around.

The Kiddie pool

The Kiddie pool

Here's the kiddie pool after 6 months of disuse. Also known as the second coldest watery hellhole I've ever seen.

Diving well

Diving well

This is the diving well. It's about 12' at it's deepest, but currently holds about 2' of water. This is #1 on my lst of watery hellholes, by the way.

Here's the inside of the gate, looking out on the country club.

Here's a nice padlock on the gate.

And here's what it looks like after I go over the gate.

Here's the wall pictured in the last few shots. I ran off that wooden piece and...

A sign on the door. Perfect...

So, at first I thought I might slip in through the sewer system in a Montmorency-esque heist scene

Then I saw this beautiful wall.

Unfortunately, It is a tall wall.

Fortunately I have been playing with parkour for the last month.

Here's a shot of my shoes as I fall from the tall wall. Don't worry, I'm better at landings than humpty-dumpty.

I was unable to take any more in-club shots. I opened a door, set off a LOUD alarm, and escaped posthaste.

While I was leaving I saw this and couldn't resist.

This door was extremely easy to open, though.

So, here's a no trespassing sign near my new backyard. The gold course closed down the first of the year.
