Player Solidarity by W F

June 26th, 2006 2:02 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Ostensibly, SFZero has about 400 players right now. However, as of Monday June 19th, only 281 have gotten so far as submiting a player photograph. What are these players waiting for? Are they too busy to play the game? Maybe they are intimidated, don't know where to start. Perhaps they've lost interest? This task is to find a player who has become essentially inactive and contact them. You could suggest that the two of you collaborate, encourage them to play, or you could just find out why they are not playing.

The task is completed when the player you contacted either submits proof for a task or when you can report their reason for not playing.

I contacted all of the players who had signed up in the last week but hadn't yet completed the Player Photograph task. And I just got a reply that I was successful!

I'll add to this if anyone else writes back. In the meantime, Peter's reply and my original message:

You inspired me to complete the task. Thanks for the nudge.

Hey. I'm new here too. And I'm trying to complete this task:

http://sf0.org/taskDetail/?taskID=388

So please forgive the intrusion, given that I don't know you and all. I just thought I would drop a line to the folks who signed up within the last week but who are still stuck on the "Player Photograph" task. (I figured it would seem less threatening to email a group; so no I'm not signalling you out.)

It feels weird to welcome someone to something I just joined, but uh... welcome! And since I discovered and signed up for this thing on my own (as opposed to receiving an invitation from an existing player), I would love to meet some new people with whom I can collaborate on tasks.

(By the way, I won't try to message you again or take it personally if you choose to ignore me. You're also welcome to respond with an eviscerating flame insulting my lineage. I think I get points for completing the task if said flame includes the reason why you're not interested in playing.)
