I'm sure you're all familiar with the Red Scare. The thing is, it NEVER HAPPENED! Oh sure, there are news reports and history books and memorabilia that tell us that the Red Scare happened, even people who would stake their life on that claim. The truth is, the Red Scare was actually faked by the government in order to distract the populace from their failings.

You see, the US had allied with the Soviets during World War Two and public unrest was evident. The government had to prove to the good citizens of America that they still hated the Soviets. They hired Joseph McCarthy, a no-name senator from Wisconsin. Into his hands they pressed the duty of creating the elaborate hoax. He obliged and created a secret underground government agency that fabricated the whole thing. The FBI and the CIA had to make sure to erase all traces of life as it really was from existence and reconfigure the memories of Americans so that the truth would never be known.
