Natural -> Artificial by Amoeba Man

INSTRUCTIONS: Create an artificial version of a natural product.

I remember looking at the Praxii for this task and thinking "Wow, these are really creative". I tried to do the whole "beauty of nature into artificial format" by drawing a sunset in Flash, but that turned out to be fairly disappointing (which may say something about the beauty of sunsets. Or my drawing ability).

So I tried to think of something else natural. Then I began to get on the less nature-style natural and more the "He's a natural" kind of natural- that is, talents or skills that come naturally to some people. I rather liked that line of thought, so I decided to boil this down to the most natural thing I could think of, eventually settling on emotion. Everyone from babies to geezers have emotions, they just come naturally to us. So now I just needed to think of a way to make them seem artificial. I decided to clear my mind of all thought (not a difficult task, since I wasn't doing much at the time anyways) and then force out as much false emotion as I could.

I took some pictures of me forcing a smile, a frown, and a frightened expression, as well as some anger and sadness. I tried as hard as I could to make them look artificial and unconvincing, and I think that turned out pretty well.

And I can see why. Ew.

Also, on an entirely unrelated note, if one more person votes on this, I'll be at Level 4!

Edit: WHOOO! YRREEAAAAAAGH!

Thanks!

(Unlike the rest of this Praxis, that emotion was not feigned).
