Work is So Strange by Ben Whitehouse
January 16th, 2008 9:46 AM / Location: 52.449122,-1.927427I excused myself from the meeting saying that "there was a minor crisis" that needed my attention.
I ran through the corridors of work looking slightly flushed shouting for people to move out of the way.
I was running to help inflate the word vote that we'd spent £3000 on.
It's beautiful and far more entertaining than any one meeting.

I hope you will pull these out often.
My only concern, where will you put them?
Or "TOVE". Can't forget those slithy toves that gyre and gimble in the wabe.
A wee subliminal message.
They're brand spanking new, but we're going to use them often.
I'm using them on Monday for a "Change the world" fair.
We made it spell both veto and tove.
We're thinking of buying another E. (Like wheel of fortune) And making "E-vote". To encourage online voting.
It's hard not to vote when confronted with such enormous persuasion.
I have to ask, when you say "signed" do you mean gestures or the language?
As in sign language.
He's not very good at it so what he signed was essentially like a telegram.
"Ben". (He finger spelt my name)
"Help me" (His primary hand was held as a fist vertically on open palm of secondary hand. Both hands then raise and motion toward himselfself)
"vote" (which he fingerspelt)
I was expecting the message so knew what he was on about.
Sometimes we're a little underhand and use sign language around people so we can communicate a plea for help or for someone to rescue us.
Woah, awesome!
Welcome to the game!
