Please Standby For Love by Malaysian Eddy
August 20th, 2007 2:24 PMI started off at San Francisco Airport waiting to board my flight for Virginia. My sweet southern home, I stood by waiting to see my mom's smilling face as I exited the airplane, I stood by waiting to laugh and hug my sister. We have a tradition that started when I moved out to California, every year, the three girls get together and go someplace to reconnect with one another. This year it's London with a quick pit stop in Virginia.
Getting off the airplane, I was hit with a wave of humitidy that I had too soon forgotten. It felt good to be home, I felt at peace to be surrounded by such lush green colors and people that I love. My belly was swollen from the southern comfort of sweet tea, cheap beer and fried green tomatos.
Flying to London, while everyone slept, I was reminded of another love I had been standing by for, my love of travel and of life. The trip to London was too short. I had an amazing time being able to see things that I had always wanted to see, and some things that I didn't know would have such an impact on me. London is an amazing city and England is such a beautiful country. I was reminded of things that I will always be willing to stand by for, simple things in life that make it worth it for me ( I included some extra images cause to show you cause all plane pictures would have been boring anyway).
Flying home, the end result is always the same. Me, balling my eyes out, saying goodbye. I am a terrible person to say goodbye to, because I know that in my heart I will miss you something fierce. Exhausted, I stand by for a new love. A different love. San Francisco. ( If I could play Journey right now I would)

thank you for all of the compliments...you're not so bad yourself missy...
fantastic photos... being from PA, it's comfoting to see the good old Love's sign.
don't forget about good ol sheetz...
There's something mysteriously touching 'bout all that. Fantastic photos too.
i'm also from PA, and the mere mention of sheetz above makes me misty-eyed. luckily i saw it after i had a change to look through your photos. tracy and tom the horses at golden hour and random bits of light surrounded by darkness are my absolute favorite.
Rad...so glad I have other fellow east coasters. Where in PA? She is also from PA too.
i'm from altoona. home of the "world famous" horseshoe curve*, the "world's oldest" operating wooden rollercoaster*, and the "world's largest" orange building.*

In Dillsburg, PA they drop a pickle for new years. For some reason I always imagined a bunch of red necks standing together in the freezing cold as on lone pickle was dropped to the ground and they cheer whilst sipping their coors light. But later I was informed that it's on a much bigger scale...
The saddest part about this is that my folder of london pictures got deleted somehow. These are my only photographic evidence of traveling to london.....and I'm really upset about it too.
I love the picture of your mom running to you. I think it's the most emotionally evocative picture in the whole series. The picture of the London Tower bridge is also pretty kick ass. Your very pretty by the way. Thought I'd mention that. :)
