alright, so i had completed this task multiple times since it's creation but i have never taken the time to document or even recount it. however, yesterday i finally was thinking of this task while i wasn't going to school or work.
so, tommy came over to my house first. after getting him set up here, we decided to ride on over to the jack in the box where we were to meet up with alex. however, on the way there i had a mishap in the street. against my better judgement, i rode my board in the street with tommy. it didn't feel right and i shortly found out why. tommy looked back at me and then looked forward. when he looked back, i was sliding across the asphalt while my board went shooting across the street, to the side where the oncoming traffic couldn't see what was going on. luckily no one was headed that way. i don't know exactly what it was that caused my spill but it was not my last that day. i decided to walk as much as possible instead.
upon meeting alex, we decided to head to town center, hoping we'd find something to do there. getting there was an ordeal. we travelled behind the elderly hospital and traversed the new, unfinished street to avoid a longer, boring walk. we had to cross a construction site with very little construction going on and immerse ourselves in the depths of some tall bushes and plants. then we had to cross the bridge that spanned a section of the san diego river (not a river by the way). this bridge is actually a street and we were on the side with no sidewalk and would be walking towards oncoming traffic. however, lucky for us, about 7 feet from the railing was blocked off for the length of the bridge because there is soon to be a sidewalk there. upon reaching town center we eventually decided on heading into the book store. we spent quite a deal of time there flipping through books and conversing with customers. we got a few strange looks as we were standing in the sexuality section and making a lot of noise. mostly laughter. we left and came to the conclusion that there was nothing left to do but start heading home. so we went back the way we came.
but things were different this time. the dirt at the end of the bridge had turned into molten lava which we couldn't touch because it was.... well.... lava. walking back to the construction site, we came a upon a small bridge behind the baseball fields. it was the kind trolls are known to live under so alex, armed with his trusty sword and me with my battle shield ventured into the void followed shortly by tommy. it's a good thing there weren't any trolls there or they would have been toast. when we left the bridge, we were a little disoriented and actually lost in the tall bushes again. we finally made our way back to the construction site where alex and tommy had an epic battle with tur poles. fortunately, it ended in a draw. back out on the street adjacent to the elderly hospital, we found three children's bikes. but they were all in unusable states so we moved on. it was here where our journey came to an end. but it was well worth it
