Kamikaze by Crusher Joe, Hemingway Kat

May 18th, 2007 4:47 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Create a wind-powered device (such as a pinwheel or a kite) and put it in a windy public place.

I've had this on the back burner for a while... Crusher Joe and I agonized over pinwheel design (I agonized over pinwheel paper, cause that's what I do.)

Then, we had to find the perfect spot in Austin to place the (now named) seven pinwheels...

A windy place. A public place...

i didn't know it was zoomed in.
Whee!

is that some kind of texas-DWI warning sign? is that like one of those "think why die X marks the spot signs"? In South Dakota, they put those signs where somebody died in a car wreck. Your little pinwheels look like a memorial. Wow.

Also you named them?? Ha!

In Texas, people tend to put up white crosses where people die in wrecks, but it is a Texas DWI sign.

... I name everything. It's, um, quirky. Yeah.

Very nice design style!
I cry out for more all over texas!
And even one giant one on the top of a hill!

Well, the nifty thing is, here in Austin, there are plenty of candidate hills upon which we could construct a nice windmill-sized pinwheel.

Which would be awesome, now that I think about it...

I wish I could see the pinwheels. I wasn't that far from Austin this weekend - I was in New Braunfels, but I didn't take my laptop, so no internetz.
