Rage Against the Machine by GYØ Daryl, Adam, Tøm

January 13th, 2008 3:56 PM / Location: 52.586167,1.7207443

INSTRUCTIONS: Rage against The Machine. (Perhaps direct your Rage towards a member of Equivalenz.)

GYZero - Rage Against the Machine

Stage one: Intel gathering
Stage one had to be intelligence gathering. No use pranking Ben at home if he wouldn't be there! We a;sp had to throw him off our scent, and perhaps give us a reason for being there, so when we knocked, he answers the door. Skype is our preffered method of skulking for info, and here's what stage one entailed.

[10:29:19] Tom says: It's a pity Im busy today and can't go tasking
[10:29:22] Tom says: so many good ones

Throwing Ben off the scent

[10:29:36] Adam Herrington-Smythe says: Ill get the 10:48
[10:30:04] Tom says: ???
[10:30:07] Adam Herrington-Smythe says: sorry
[10:30:11] Adam Herrington-Smythe says: I thought this was MSN
[10:30:12] Adam Herrington-Smythe says: :P
[10:30:14] Tom says: lol

Cunning cover up after window confusion discussing bus times

[10:35:39] Tom says: wuu2 today?
[10:35:52] Tom says: I might be free for a bit of low level tasking today
[10:35:53] Ben Forbes says: Revising for tomorrow
[10:35:57] Tom says: ah
[10:36:00] Tom says: k

Making sure Ben would be in

[10:37:32] Tom says: you gotm the footage off my card yet?
[10:37:44] Tom says: Im finishing off my portfolio
[10:42:15] Adam Herrington-Smythe says: yeah
[10:42:25] Ben Forbes says: Shall now upload
[10:42:35] Tom says: kl
[10:42:37] Tom says: ty
[10:43:01] Tom says: I might pop into gorleston later and pick it up, take a few photo's

A reason to be there, Ben has my SD card for reasons yet to be revealed to the SFZero Community

Intelligence gathered, it was now time to start the planning.

Stage two: Planning and preparation
So, what to do, what to do. I (Tom) go downstairs hunting for supplies and am confronted by a large stack of surplus plasterboard, which was eagerly snapped up. It was decided that this, a pot of floor paint, some marker pens, and Killing in the Name played through portable speakers would be enough to annoy Ben.

Me and Adam then enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining bus journey with our stash of plasterboard. During which many 'It's a long story'-s and 'I wouldn't ask'-s were employed to keep the inquiring public at bay. (by inquiring public, we mean 80 year olds, and bus drivers) Once we arrived at our destination, we lugged our boards and paint down to Daryl's house, where we enjoyed painting various signs and guitar hero whilst those signs dried. Then we set off to Ben's, whit the paint still wet. So the signs had to be held outwards. Toward the public. The aggressive public of Great Yarmouth. The insulting signs, to the aggressive public of our lovely town. At least we gave Daryl the big one.

Stage three: Action
We staked out Ben's bungalow for about 10 minutes before moving in for action, hiding behind his car we planned the location of the signs on the steps and paved area outside his front door. "Go!". I ran up to the drive with the smaller signs and Tom placed the guitar hero board against the wheelie bins. Daryl prepped his MP3 player for Rage Against the Machine to be played and we were poised and ready. As quietly as we could we returned to behind the car and sent Tom out to knock on the door. But, fail, Ben's very nice mother arrived to confront our offensive signs. No!

Finally Ben arrived at the door after about 3 minutes, probably spent putting on a t-shirt, only to catch a glimpse of the signs and slam it in our face, not realising the wonderful work that went into this offensive barrage of signage. To be fair to him he did reopen the door and find the whole thing jolly jovial. Ben's mum then offered us a cup of tea and said she would take the signs down to the dump, she really is a nice person. And of course we wouldn't be true men if we didnt try and crack them over our heads, at which Tom sucked, but Adam won.

So, in conclusion, Daryl's MP3 sucks, Tom has a weak head, Adam is good on a trampoline and Ben sucks at Guitar Hero.

It was pretty damn fine. I must admit, I was pissed when you came to the door, but yes. Well completed, chaps.

And just to clarify

Ben most certainly does not suck at guitar hero.

Adam sucks at guitar hero.

Err... I'm glad we've come to those conclusions. It was keeping me up at night wondering.

Adam certainly does suck at guitar hero, as a matter of fact I can now get 89% of Message in a Bottle!

Pwnd.

But yeah, I suck.

Ben sucks at Simcity.

okay so, in what way does this rage against the machine? or, what is the nature of the rage against the machine which you are directing toward said member given that you seem to have followed the suggestion in the instructions, directing it at a member of Equivalenz (or one-time member, anyway)? from here it seems like you insulted a guy-- his group membership notwithstanding--instead of a machine (or "The" machine I guess). What do you think?

Uhm, BU? +1

I think it is a literal interpretation, with a twist: they directed their Rage against the Machine to Ben via Daryl´s MP3. And with that and the signs ("Ben enjoys the music of Dido" is my favorite!) they managed to trigger Ben´s rage against their well oiled prank machine in return. Although, if my interpretation of theirs is correct, Ben should be a collaborator too. Hmm. Wait, no, because we don´t see any proof of a raging Ben. Too blurry. Everything adds up.

then offered us a cup of tea and said she would take the signs down to the dump
Humanitarian crisis? What humanitarian crisis? Ben´s mum for Senator!

I should not be a collaborator BECAUSE I was not in on any of this. I can safely say, however, and mother can vouch for me here, that I was not happy when they came to the door.

I have to go with BU as well. Which is unfortunate because "you suck at Guitar Hero" is maybe my favorite dis in some time.

Why was this flagged?

posted by teucer on May 8th, 2008 10:52 AM

I don't believe it was.

Look in your completed tasks list, and I think you will find it listed as not having any flags. Furthermore the SF0 Daemon failed to tell you you had been flagged by six of your peers.

I suspect that you and JTony are both victims of a bug which seems to be red-xing things for no apparent reason. I don't know for certain, though.
